Record number of Dan candidates at the Judo Club Pforzheim – Sport

Pforzheim. All 17 Taekwondokas of the Judo Club Pforzheim passed the Dan exam with flying colors – more than ever before. Great performance at the Taekwondo-Dan exam in Pforzheim. The ultimate goal of a Taekwondoka is to achieve the Dan level (black belt). A lot of preparation and training hours have to be completed before this goal can be achieved.

One of the highlights of every Taekwondoka came in Pforzheim. In the Weiherberghalle, 17 athletes from the taekwondo department of the Judo Club Pforzheim (JCP) had the opportunity to increase their dan or higher.

Under the attentive supervision of the three examiners Wolfgang Brueckel (President TUBW – 9th Dan), Ibrahim Sönmezates (Chief Coach JCP Taekwondo – 7th Dan) and Alexandra Blocksdorf (6th Dan), the athletes laid a predetermined series of disciplines to receive the first to third Then off.

In order to receive the Dan degree, the Pforzheim athletes had to complete disciplines consisting of form running (Poomsae), one-step combat (Ilbo Taeryon), self-defense (Hosinsul), competition (Taeryon) and breaking test.

Already in the first discipline of the form run, the examiners realized that the athletes were well prepared. The energy and power delivery of the two forms shown were extremely strong. In the follow-up discipline of the one-step fight, the prepared programs were also reproduced by the athletes without errors. In self-defense, sometimes against two opponents and against stick and knife attacks, the JCP fighters showed technically adept self-defense techniques.

Then came the showdown in the last discipline, the popular breaking test. Here the examinees had to break boards of different thicknesses and using different techniques. Depending on the desired Dan level, a different number of boards had to be broken through (1st Dan three boards, 2nd Dan four boards and 3rd Dan five boards).

All 17 candidates of the JCP Pforzheim were able to break all their boards with partly very good techniques.

To the delight of the JCP examinees, all 17 athletes were able to achieve the desired Dan level with flying colors and thus received their certificates with congratulations from the examiners. It is the first time in the history of the JCP that so many participants have taken the same Dan exam at the same time and also been successful. pm
