The victory went to Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, who recorded his third win of the season. The Ferraris were stronger than Verstappen throughout the race, but thanks to a virtual safety car and a failure by Carlos Sainz, Verstappen was still able to hunt for victory. He eventually came 1.5 seconds short of the Monegask. Verstappen remains well in the lead in the World Cup standings. The Limburger’s lead on Leclerc is 38 points.
