Razma protects the advantage and reaches the round of 16 of the “European Matchplay”.

In the second round of the European Darts Matchplay 2022, Madars Razma beat the German Martin Schindler 6:5.

In the third round, or in the round of 16, the Dutchman Weslijs Plaisiers (PDC 110) will face the Latvian, who unexpectedly defeated the seventh ranked Jose de Souza 6:1 today.

For reaching the third round, Razma has guaranteed a cash prize of at least three thousand British pounds.

Yesterday, Latvia’s best darts thrower Madars Razma started the “European Darts Matchplay 2022” tournament in Germany with a victory over the German Dragutina Horvat, who occupies the 141st position in the PDC ranking – 6:3.

Razma continues the fight for participation in the “World Matchplay”, which will take place from July 16 to 24 in Blackpool. The 16 best ranked dart throwers and 16 Pro the best darts players on tour. Latvian currently, how Pro 13th in the tour ranking, is in the group of participants, but the place in the “World Matchplay” has yet to be secured.

The Latvian shot putter won the bull’s eye before the match and started the match shooting first. With 12 darts, the Latvian reached the closing chance, which he also later erased, hitting a double nine in the sector. Schindler started his starting leg with two triple-digit walks, taking the lead. The German was the first to reach the end and equalized the result – 1:1.

Similar to the second leg, Razma also convincingly won the third leg, gaining an advantage and erasing one hundred points. A three-digit move in the fourth leg gave a slight advantage to the Latvian, however, Schindler hit 101 points at the checkout – 2:2.

In a tense fifth leg, Schindler made a mistake trying to clear 107 points before Razma hit a double 12 with the third dart to seal an emotional leg victory. In the next leg, Latvia’s best dart thrower finished with 117 points, winning a break in his favor – 4:2.

In the seventh leg, Razma scored 98 points at the checkout and was one defeated leg away from the round of 16. The Latvian got into a good position in the eighth leg, not being able to erase 20 points a moment later. Schindler held on in the match, but later fought back a break. Razma missed the bull in the tenth leg, which would have given victory, while Schindler made one mistake in the decisive leg. With the first dart in double 20, Razma ended the match – 6:5.
