Havana, Jul 29 (RHC) The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, received this Friday in Havana the head of the Peruvian Olympic Committee Renzo Manyari, and the top leader of the Pan American Judo Confederation, Carlos Zegarra.

At the Palace of the Revolution, Díaz-Canel shared experiences of the development of sports in our country and the possibility of strengthening cooperation ties.

In statements to the press, Manyari expressed that the visit to the Caribbean nation is intended to give continuity to the collaboration agreement signed between the two national Olympic committees during the I Junior Pan American Games in Cali 2021.

The Peruvian director complies with a program of activities that includes conversations with the highest authorities of Cuban sports and tours of institutions in the sector, where he will learn about the development of high performance and work at the base.

For his part, the former judoka Zegarra received the Seventh Dan Degree -red and white belt- of a discipline originating in Japan and created by master Jigoro Kano in the epilogue of the 19th century at the Ciudad Deportiva in this capital.

From the hands of Cuban luminaries Onix Cortés, world bronze medalist from Chelyabinsk 2014, and Yalennis Castillo, Olympic silver medalist from Beijing 2008, the also vice president of the International Federation obtained the plaque. (Fuente: Latin Press).
