Quintet Yelda Trinidad beats Wanda Reyes in basketball (f) SFM

SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS.- Veteran Mary Coronado led the Yelda Trinidad quintet to an easy 43-33 victory over Wanda Reyes, in the continuation of the third superior basketball tournament with reinforcements dedicated to Dr. Rosanna Brea.

Coronado was effective with both short and long distance baskets to lead the Mamey team backed by the Fe Malta Foundation to its first victory of the event and in the process snapped the streak of two straight losses in the successful sporting event.

In addition to Coronado, those guided by the renowned coach Domingo Ortega (Moye) Ambar Encarnación, Elizabeth Tavares with 10 points each stood out on the offensive.

For the Wanda Reyes quintet, the most outstanding were Armely Encarnación with 13 points, Rocio Herrera with 10 and Jeniffer Severino and Brittany Sandoval with 3 points each.

In the second match of the day yesterday, the Emma Rivera team beat the Marilyn Santos quintet 39-25, producing a tie in the first position of the tight sports activity.

Reinforcement Yaira Faynette was the best scorer for the tenm led by Reinie Gutiérrez with 11 points, Steffanny Pérez scored 7 and Yadira Polanco contributed 6.

For the Marilyn Santos team, the most outstanding were Amando de León with 9 points, Crismerly Paulino scored 8 and Elizabeth López scored 7.

After yesterday’s activity, the standing is headed in the first position by the quintets Emma Rivera and Marilyn Santos with a record of two wins and one loss, the second place is shared one game away from the first position between the quintets Wanda Reyes and Yelda Trinidad with a record of 1-2.

The fair will continue this Friday at four in the afternoon at the Cevicos Sánchez Ramírez province sports center with a double clash to be held at the local sports center.
