PSG: Neymar now under contract until 2027

With questions surrounding his future fueling discussions, and it’s not guaranteed that he will stay at PSG today, Neymar has just had his contract extended for one more year. Indeed, as revealed by our colleagues from L’Equipe, we can confirm that the Brazilian star is now linked to the Parisian club until 2027. An extension that he was the only one who could decide, the club not having no power over this option negotiated when it was extended for three years last year.

The former Barcelonan, criticized for his lack of professionalism and singled out without being named by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, in an interview with “Parisien” – “Aujourd’hui en France”, had a clause in his contract which allowed to extend a season at PSG from July 1. It’s done ! After exercising a first option last year at the same time, until 2026, Neymar did the same a year later. He is therefore now linked to the champion of France for the next five seasons. It remains to be seen what consequences this will have for the future knowing that he has not asked to leave for the moment, but that he no longer feels as comfortable at PSG, as we wrote this week.

Paris, in a logic of putting an end to the “bling-bling” and “glitter”, will not keep it at all costs and maintains permanent contact with the entourage of number 10 on which Chelsea, via the former Parisian coach Thomas Tuchel, keep an eye out.
