The little prince at the grand finale: For the very first time, George (8) was allowed to mum Kate (40) and dad William (40) accompany to a Wimbledon final. And got a powerful offer!
In the Royal Box, eight-year-old Prince George – proud as Bolle – took a seat between his parents in a dark suit and tie. They kept trying to explain to their eldest child what was happening down there on the court and when he should be particularly careful.

The hour-long match between Novak Djokovic (35) and Nick Kyrgios (27) made the mini-monarch a little tired in between, photos show George yawning and rubbing his eyes. Towards the end it got really exciting for EVERYONE. And loud.
In an emotional and high-class final, Djokovic then wins the grass classic in Wimbledon for the seventh time. Challenger Kyrgios starts brilliantly, but has to admit defeat – and curses, yells, rants about himself!

The Australian with the bad-boy image shot himself wide after a fight with the referee, spectators and his own family. Are the royals and two heirs to the throne watching in row 1? He certainly didn’t care in the adrenaline frenzy.
And so Nick Kyrgios cursed out loud “F ***” after his defeat. Even more: he went to the stands where his girlfriend and sister were sitting, complained to them about allegedly too little support: “Do you f***ing care at all?” In German, for example: “Do you fucking care at all? “

… but was wide awake again the next moment when the “F***” word was spoken! There was also a lot to see in the match, which lasted three hours
This adult moment – certainly great cinema for Prince George. Or, as the BBC commentator explained live on TV: “Please excuse the language. It’s live sport, everyone’s tense.”
But it wasn’t that easy after all: Kyrgios was fined £3,325 (around €3,900) for two “f***ck” curses and generally “obscene language”. Doesn’t bother the Australian much when he wins prize money of one million pounds for second place.
In the end, Duchess Kate presented the winner’s trophy for first place to Djokovic, while George was excited next to Prince William. And was even allowed to hold the trophy briefly! “Don’t let them fall,” Papa William whispered lovingly in his offspring’s ear.
Away from the tennis court, George beamed in awe when he was briefly allowed to hold the trophy. But then I was surprised at what such a thing weighs. He quickly returned the trophy to mom Kate, saying, “It’s a little bit hard.” Capturing the cute scene on Twitter:
At the end, the eight-year-old, who had just seen his first Wimbledon match, said to Djokovic: “It was great.”
And mum Kate added to Novak: “The level of tennis you played was incredible. It was great that George was here and saw you play SO. He’s eight…about the same age William was when he came here with his mother.”
