“Riga” beat the Northern Irish team “Derry City” 2-0 (1-0) at home, achieving a convincing 4-0 victory in the sum of two games.

The Northern Ireland club’s visit to Riga was not without incidents, as a visiting fan decided to run onto the field, but the security guards managed to neutralize him very quickly.

In the 33rd minute of the match, the home team resolutely went to the opponent’s goal, which resulted in 1:0 in favor of “Riga”, Gabriel Ramos scoring. Mikael Soisalo had a chance to double the lead shortly after, but Derry City goalkeeper Brian Marr saved the effort.

In the second half, the Riga team played more cautiously and created fewer attacks, but the Northern Ireland team came close to equalizing in the 56th minute, sending the ball over the Riga goal post.

Towards the end of regular time, the people of Riga began to control the ball more, and in the 76th minute, Ramos scored the second goal of the match from a long distance.

In the second round of qualification, “Riga” will meet “Ružomberok” from Slovakia, which beat “Žalgiris” from Kaunas.
