Peru has won 116 medals so far at the XIX Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022, Colombia

This Sunday we won 19 medals and consolidated ourselves in third place in the general medal table with 30 gold, 26 silver and 60 bronze.

This Sunday, the Peruvian delegation that competes in the XIX Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022 in Colombia, won 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, making a total of 19 medals for our country. This sum of medals consolidates us so far in third place with 116 medals on the general board with 30 gold, 26 silver and 60 bronze medals.

The Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games culminate this Tuesday, July 5, and Colombia is currently in first place, followed by Venezuela. In third place, momentarily, is the Peruvian delegation and behind it Chile and Ecuador in fourth and fifth place respectively.

The gold medals for Peru came with Alejandra De Osma in Water Skiing in the Slalom modality, Hugo del Castillo in Taekwondo in the Poomsae modality, María Alejandra Bramont in Open Water Swimming, Marko Carrillo in Sports Shooting in Rapid Shot Pistol 25 meters and in swimming, María Fe Muñoz, Women’s 400m Individual Combined and Mckenna De Bever in 100m. The silver medals for Peru were won this Sunday by Gabriela Castillo from Taekwondo in the Poomsae modality, María Alejandra de Osma from Water Skiing in Women’s Jumping, Joao Benavides in Greco Wrestling, Men’s 60 kg category and Kevin Altamirano from Sports Shooting in the Rapid Fire Pistol mode 25 meters.

Finally, the bronze medals were obtained by Rodrigo Hidalgo and Carlos Fernández of Table Tennis in Men’s Doubles, Felipe Duffoó and Isabel Duffoó of Table Tennis in Mixed Doubles, Cristhiana Emilia De Osma Bedoya of Water Skiing in Women’s Figures, Rafael Juan Diego De Osma Bedoya of Water Skiing in Men’s Figures, Rafael de Osma of Water Skiing in Men’s Jumping, Raymiguel Barreto of Taekwondo in 58kgs Men’s Kyorugi, Pool Ambrosio in Greco Wrestling, 87 kg category, Joaquín Vargas of Swimming in 200 meters freestyle men and the team made up of Alexia Sotomayor, María Fe Muñoz, Rafaela Fernandini, Adriana Buendía in Swimming in the 4 × 100 combined female relay modality.

In the first 3 Bolivarian Games (1938, 1948 and 1951), our country was champion. Then, in the following 13 Games, Venezuela has been crowned in first place and in 2013 and 2017 the first place went to Colombia, which today leads the general medal table. Historically, our country, after the emergence of Venezuela and Colombia, occasionally occupied the third place and lately the fourth and fifth position.

For these Bolivarian Games, Peru has traveled with a delegation of 416 athletes to compete in 40 sports disciplines (we attended the 2017 Santa Marta Games with 516 athletes in 43 sports disciplines). In the previous Bolivarian Games we won 154 medals (32 gold, 53 silver and 69 bronze).
