Sergio Perez has been crowned Driver Of The Day in Great Britain. The Mexican suffered damage to his front wing early in the race, but eventually crossed the line in second.
The Mexican started the race from fourth place, but made contact with Charles Leclerc on the opening lap, causing both drivers to damage their front wing. Perez had to go in for a new one, and so came back on track last. The Red Bull Racing driver then put in a solid catch-up race, eventually taking advantage of a late safety car to pull off a podium finish.
Driver Of The Day
It turned out to be enough to be elected Driver Of The Day, but not everyone agrees with that. There is a lot of reaction under the post on social media, especially by fans who believe that the honorary title should have gone to Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion also rode an impressive stage and crossed the line in third place in front of the home crowd.
no one voted for him. If you’re going to choose the driver then don’t make us vote at all

Should have two penalties, one for cutting the corner when passing LeClerc, the second for forcing Hamilton off the track.

No. It’s not. It should be Hamilton or Leclerc. Perez only made it to P2 because of the Safety Car, let’s be honest.
