Paradis-Giroux muzzles the Cataracts

Another solid performance from Dany Paradis-Giroux led the Batitech Braves to a 4-0 win over the Grand Falls Cataractes on Tuesday night at Parc des Braves in the Cabano district.

The big right-hander flirted with a game without points or hits until 7e inning when the visitors’ first batter, Mathieu Moreau, hit a single. Matt Marsh then took over, closing the books. Paradis-Giroux passed nine batters in the mitt and only needed 75 pitches, including 50 strikes. Marsh added two strikeouts.

For the Braves, Samuel Pearson has two of his team’s six hits. He produced a run. François Fortier took the loss.

This victory allows the Témiscouata team to bring its record to 9-4, one game behind Montmagny (11-4). Grand Falls (9-6) is just behind, in third place.

The other match scheduled for Tuesday between Trois-Pistoles and Rivière-du-Loup has been postponed due to rain.

The action will resume on Friday in the Bérubé circuit with three games: Edmundston in Rimouski, Rivière-du-Loup in Montmagny and Témiscouata in Trois-Pistoles.
