Painful defeat of the Spanish team against Germany (2-0)

BarcelonaThe European Championship is being tough with the Spanish team. The footballers led by Jorge Vilda asked for calm before the European event in which everyone placed them as favorites to take the trophy. They, however, reiterated that nothing had yet been achieved to put them under so much pressure. The match against Germany was presented as a test of fire to see what the real level of the team is compared to the large consolidated European teams. The duel has been bittersweet: a painful defeat (2-0) that has clouded the good game played by the team made up mostly of Barça players (or with a Catalan past).

As in Spain’s debut in the European Championship, where the team was forced to bounce back against Finland, the result has started against the national team. In the second minute of the match Germany saw the goal in the first dangerous action. Sandra Paños tries a through ball, but Klara Bühl is caught offside. The striker did not forgive the error of the Catalan goalkeeper and finished with pleasure to send the ball to the back of the net. Below in the light, Jorge Vilda’s team has tried to get out quickly to turn the situation around. With several arrivals, the Spanish team has not been strong in the final meters and has not put against the ropes the rival goalkeeper, Merle Frohms.

Lots of football but no goals

The Germans’ second goal came just minutes before they made their way to the locker room. Their great danger is the stopped ball and the tried plays, and thus the second goal has arrived. Alexandra Popp, captain and lethal weapon of the set of Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, has headed, almost from behind in the goal of Cloths, a corner that has signed the 2-0. Two shots on goal, two goals for the Germans. His effectiveness has been overwhelming against a Spanish team that has not finished profiling its shots between the three posts and has had the cross in goal with a Sandra Paños who has not had the day.

In the second half, the Spanish team maintained control of the ball. With a marrow guided by an exceptional Patri Guijarro, Vilda’s team has proposed the game. With precise combinations and quick transitions, they have gradually settled on rival ground, while Germany has suggested very little. The occasions of danger have rained in favor of the Red, but lack of luck and lack of success have left them behind on the scoreboard. They have tried to shorten distances over and over again, but either the German goalkeeper has refused under sticks or the ball has been deflected out of goal.

While football has been proposed by Spain, Germany has taken advantage of isolated actions and a solid defense to seal a frustrating defeat for the state as a whole. Mistakes pay dearly in the European Championship and Vilda’s team has bumped into the first wall in continental competition.
