The Baltimore Orioles made Jackson Holliday the first-ever pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. The 18-year-old shortstop is the son of Matt Holliday, who enjoyed a 14-year career in the Majors.

“My dad is amazing, he’s my best friend. He’s always there when I want to train and he pushes me to be the best I can be. I wouldn’t be here without him,” young Holliday admitted of his father.

“It’s unreal! I am very proud of him. To be able to share this passion with him, to watch the first steps of his career, to think back to all the time spent together, it’s very exciting, ”launched dad Holliday.

Jackson Holliday is a six-foot-one, 175-pound left-handed hitter who played at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma. He batted .685 with 89 hits in 41 games, breaking the national record for hits in a secondary baseball season.
