Beach volleyball in front of the Eiffel Tower, sailing in Marseille, surfing in Tahiti… The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be the showcase for exceptional theaters throughout mainland France and overseas. In all, 12 departments will have the chance to host one or more events of the 32 Olympic sports of the edition.
In Paris, the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (COJO) chaired by Tony Estanguet honors already existing sites such as the Parc des Princes (football), Bercy (Basketball, trampoline and artistic gymnastics) or Roland-Garros (tennis and boxing). Other temporary sites will emerge during the events: the archery event will take place on the Esplanade des Invalidesbeach volleyball in front of the Eiffel Tower, 3×3 basketball at the Concorde…
Very close to the Stade de France in Saint-Denis where the athletics events will take place, an aquatic center is still under construction. Apart from Ile-de-France, other major cities such as Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Étienne will have the chance to host football matches.
Finally, it is in Tahiti, more precisely on the site of Teahupo’o, that the surfing events will take place.
