No holidays for the Tennis Padel Club of Gruissan

Whatever the season, the Tennis Padel Club Gruissan (TPCG) continues its activities at a sometimes frantic pace. Its proposals during the summer period range from initiation courses to tournaments reserved for members of the French Tennis Federation, from leisure activities in total autonomy to individual or group lessons. On Friday, for example, there was a double surprise event at the club. For a small fee, participants had access to padel or tennis sports activity followed by a meal. This evening combining sport and conviviality will be repeated on Monday July 25 et friday august 19.

Saturday afternoon, Quentin Fages, the educator-trainer, welcomed summer visitors to the area set up by the town hall for “sport beach” activities at Chalets beach. Faced with the influx of players wishing to try their hand at beach tennis, he had to quickly improvise a multi-chance tournament, thus offering everyone the opportunity to play several matches. “ The matches were super 10-point tie-breaks. The winners were two tourists, Victor and Arthur, against a pair from Narbonne, cousins ​​Lucine and Thomas. All participants enjoyed playing beach tennis. The equipment was lent to us by the Aude tennis committee ” he says, delighted with these good times spent on the sand to discover his passion.

Since 11 July, courses lasting 3 or 5 days are offered, at the rate of one hour/day for children aged 5 to 8 and 1 h 30 daily for teenagers aged 9 to 17 or adults, whatever their level.

Similarly, leisure or competition lessons in individual, 2 or in groups of 3 or 4 are also offered. Since the Thursday July 28 et until Wednesday August 17, the TPCG also organizes its traditional open tournament. Reserved for licensees of the French Tennis Federation, it will see the senior, + 35 ans, + 45 ans, + 55 years old and, in women’s singles, the senior and + categories 35 years old, all from all over the territory. Because this tournament, with 2 300 € of various prices and lots, is renowned in the department. Attention ! Registrations are launched and will be closed without notice.

Of course, the club remains open from 8 to 13 hours and from 15 h 30 to 20 h 30 every day as well as weekends from 9 to 13 hours and from 15 to 19 hours. With family or friends, those who wish can rent padel and tennis courts or go play mini-golf.
