No finder’s reward for Manuel Neuer’s taxi drivers: now the Bayern legend steps in

1000 euros for taxi drivers by Lothar Matthäus:
Because Manuel Neuer only gave a Munich taxi driver a jersey as a thank you for a returned wallet, Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus is now stepping in. The record national player buys the jersey from taxi driver Hazir Stublla for 1000 euros and wants to auction it off for a good cause, as “Bild” reports.

Little gratitude from Manuel Neuer:
Stublla had previously been annoyed that he didn’t get a word of thanks from Neuer for bringing the purse back. The goalkeeper had lost his wallet in Stublla’s taxi, which contained ID and 800 euros in cash. Then the taxi driver drove a long way to return it.

Matthew enthusiastic about commitment:
Matthäus now took on the matter and said to “Bild”: “I know from my own experience what it’s like to lose your wallet. The trouble is the effort afterwards. I find Hazir’s commitment all the more valuable in order to save Manuel trouble.” The taxi driver: “I liked Lothar as a player, but now he’s my hero.”
