Necio and Aneudy win in the 2nd Ugamba children’s basketball tournament

SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS.- The Necio and Aneudy teams came out on top of the second under-15 basketball tournament in the Ugamba sector dedicated to community leader Joel Martínez as an option for the Pescadería Wanda and Periodico el Regional cups.

In the first match of the opening day, the Necio team defeated the Reynoso quintet 40-32 in a match played to a full house on the field of the Paulino Valenzuela school in the populous sector of Ugamba.

The most outstanding for the team Necio Hamlet Guzmán with 20 points, Junior Núñez had 16 while for the defeated the most outstanding were Jeison Vásquez with 12 and Fraylin Gómez with 8.

In another match, the Aneudy team beat the José Armando quintet 50-42 to achieve their first victory in the successful sports event.

For the winners Brayan de Jesús was the best scorer with 15 points while Oscalyn María scored 14 points for the losers.

Prior to the start of the two meetings, the provincial sports director Juan Liberato, Hipólito Almonte for the organizing committee and Otto Conce, president of the Duarte Province Basketball Association, addressed those present.

Then the organizing committee gave a well-deserved recognition plaque to popular leader Joel Martínez for his valuable contributions in favor of sports in the sector.

Journalist Tony Reyes presented the Pescadería Wanda and Periodico el Regional cups, which will be competing for the first two places in the event.

In addition, Tony Reyes and the provincial director of sports Juan Liberato delivered sports supplies to the organizing committee of the event.

The kick-off was made by Mr. Enmanuel Trinidad, former vice minister of sports and current director of the Dominican Basketball Federation.
