NBA: Bennedict Mathurin stands out in defeat

Dominating in his debut with the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Summer League, Bennedict Mathurin could not savor the victory again.

Drafted 6th overall last month, the Quebecer finished second in team scoring with 15 points in a 103-96 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Mathurin also has three rebounds and an assist in his second game with his new team.

The Pacers’ leading scorer in the loss, 22-year-old prospect Terry Taylor only edged Mathurin by one point (16).

Mathurin was also the second most used player in Indiana with 28:13 of play on the floor, just behind Taylor.

On the side of the Kings, Keegan Murray was particularly dominant with a harvest of 23 points in addition to obtaining three assists and two rebounds.
