Vedat Muriqi (28) has arrived safely in Belgium. The Kosovar striker, who should become Club Brugge’s new record purchase with a transfer fee of 10 to 11 million euros, landed in Zaventem on Thursday evening.

Muriqi had first flown from his home country, where he was still on holiday as an international, to Istanbul. Just before his second flight, to Brussels, he emphasized to a Turkish colleague from Aspor how happy he is with his imminent transfer. “There were many offers, but my manager and I thought the one from Club Brugge was the right one,” he said. “Doesn’t that record sum scare me off? No, I’m a pro, I’m not stressed. But let’s wait until everything is signed.” His medical tests are already scheduled, the signature under the four-year contract must follow afterwards. (DVD)
