Morgana De Paoli will have the honor of representing Italy at the Eyof (European Youth Olympic Festival) which just opened in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. The judoka of Polisportiva Riccione (in the photo with the other blue girls she is the last one on the right) will be on the mat on Friday for the individual competition and on Saturday for the team competition. In her category (+78 kg) Morgana will have to contend with the Croatian Vranjes, the Azerbaijani Suleymanova, the French Lang and, above all, with the Ukrainian Semchenko, vice champion of Europe in office. At this mini Olympics of the old continent for very young athletes, aged 14 to 18, De Paoli arrives with important results behind her. “Morgana is in excellent shape”, declares Giuseppe Longo, technical director of the judo section at PolCom Riccione. In Slovakia, at this youth festival, there are also five San Marino athletes spread over four disciplines: for athletics the sprinters Matias Francini and Giulia Marchionni (100 meters), for swimming Ilaria Ceccaroni (50, 100, 200 and 400 freestyle), plus Silvia Alletti (tennis) and Davide Conti (cycling).
