Morelos defeats Jalisco and qualifies for the second round in the National U17 women’s basketball game – El Sol de Cuernavaca

With a victory over Jalisco by 49 points to 18, Morelos managed to qualify for the round of 16 stage within the U17 National 5×5 Basketball Championship that takes place in the state of Hidalgo.

The Morelos squad managed to qualify for the next round with their second win of the tournament in Group Fafter on the initial date he had beaten Guerrero by 60 to 57 points, but later in his second match of the day he lost to Baja California by 65 to 38.

After the group stage closed, Morelos qualified second, behind the Baja Californian squad that finished undefeated with 6 units. In this sector they were left out, Jalisco who finished third with 4, and Guerrero who fell in his three commitments to add only 3.

The Zapatista quintet has among its ranks the fifth best scorer of the tournament, the cuautlense Valeria Mundo who has scored 29 points, same player who is the second best scorer three-pointer with 5 baskets from long range, only behind Aylin Yen, of Asian origin, who plays for the Durango team.

With the pass to the round of 16, Morelos will have Nuevo León as its rival in this round, which won its pass in group B defeating Nayarit in the last game by 91 to 27 to classify in first place in the sector.
