The AST tennis players were champions in various categories of the Regional for minors in Tucumán.
Another Saturday with great results, the Salta legion of tennis players achieved, this time in the Regional for minors that concluded yesterday on the court of Club Atlético Tucumán. Like a few weeks ago in the National, or going a little further back in time in the J5 of the ITF or the G4 of the Cosat, the representatives of the Salteña Tennis Association (AST) conquered titles and runners-up in the official contest of the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT).
The great litter of players and players settled in the capital of the Garden of the Republic to fight for the cups that were at stake in the sub-10, sub-12, sub-14, sub-16 and sub-18 categories of ladies and gentlemen, in singles and doubles.
In the men’s sub-10, Gerónimo “Cucú” Capuzzelo from Metan was runner-up after losing 10-3 in the supertiebreak of the final against Gaspar Rosales from Tucuman.
Meanwhile, in the sub-12 final there was already a guaranteed title for the province because the Metanense Juan Santa María (number 1 in the tournament) and the capital Francisco Exeni (3rd) faced each other; the victory and championship went to Santa María by 6-0 and 6-2.
In addition, Gastón Valdecantos from Salta established himself in the men’s sub-14 category by beating Valentino Ancasi from Jujuy 6-4 and 6-2 in the definition. Another member of the Valdecantos family who was celebrating was Manuela, when she prevailed over Sol Coronel, also from Salta, by a double 6-1 in sub-16.
Coronel did not leave empty-handed, since in a duo with Agustina Pieve they were crowned champions in doubles under-16 by beating Manuela Valdecantos and Luján Trucco, in a one hundred percent Salta final.
The list of successes of the Salta legion was completed with the first place achieved by Milagros Guerrero, number 1 in the country in sub-18; with the runner-up was Ana Herrera, also from our province.
Thus closed a new tournament for the tennis players of our province, who once again showed off and are already looking forward to returning to the courts to add more experience to their training path.
