The Major Leagues confirmed Panama as the venue for one of the qualifiers for the World Baseball Classic, which will be played from March 8 to 21, 2023.

Months ago it had already been anticipated that Panama would be one of the venues for this tie, but today, Thursday, the MLB confirmed it.
The tournament will be played from September 30 to October 5 at the Rod Carew Stadium with the participation of Panama as the host country, as well as Nicaragua, Brazil, Argentina, Pakistan and New Zealand.

The other qualifier will be held in Germany, where in addition to the host country the Czech Republic, Spain, France, Great Britain and South Africa will play.
From each qualifying group, the first two places will qualify for the World Classic, which will have four groups, each with its venue.
One of the venues will be the Intercontinental Stadium in Taichung, in Taiwan (Group A), where in addition to the host country, the Netherlands, Cuba, Italy and one of the teams that come out of the two qualifying tournaments will play.

The Tokyo Dome in Japan will host another group (Group B) and in addition to the host country, Korea, Australia, China and another of the teams that come out of the two qualifying tournaments will play.

The third venue will be the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field in Phoenix (Group C). The United States, Mexico, Colombia, Canada and another of the teams that come out of the two qualifying tournaments will play in it.
The loanDepot Park, the stadium of the Miami Marlins, in Florida, will be the fourth venue for the World Classic (Group D). In that group, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Israel and another of the teams that come out of the two qualifying tournaments will play.
