Mexico will participate in FISU AMERICA 3X3 Lima Basketball

Mexico.- The men’s and women’s teams of Mexico were duly registered to participate in the 4th. FISU America 3×3 Lima Tournament, which takes place at the San Ignacio de Loyola University Sports Center in the city of Lima, Peru, in which the best university teams of the continent will take part, summoned by FISU America.

Dr. Manuel Merodio Reza, Executive Secretary General of the National Council for Sports in Education (CONDDE), reported that our country will be represented by the teams from the Universidad Anáhuac Norte and the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education Campus Monterrey at this event. which will end on Friday, July 22.

According to the program, the Universidad Anáhuac and the Tecnológico de Monterrey will compete in the women’s branch with one team each, while in the men’s branch the group from ITESM Campus Toluca registered.

The tournament will bring together Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador, Peru and Mexico, made up of four players each. “Mexico has been the protagonist in the events convened by FISU. The level of university sports in our country is endorsed by the results achieved in the World University Games and those of America”, commented Dr. Merodio Reza.

Likewise, he said that a better panorama opens up for university students in the country with the return to face-to-face competitions “and proof of this is that the National Universiade was held in Ciudad Juárez with all the sanitary measures against Covid-19. Today we look to the future in hopes of fulfilling a competition calendar for our students”.

In this way, the tournament will have the participation of 10 teams in the women’s branch and 11 in the men’s branch.
