MEXICO CITY (AP) — With a goal from Uruguayan Abel Hernández, Atlético de San Luis tied 1-1 with Mazatlán on Friday for the fourth round of the Mexican Clausura tournament.
The Argentine Gonzalo Sosa converted a penalty in the 35th minute to put the Cañoneros ahead, but the Atlético de Madrid branch team in Mexico equalized in the 38th with a header from Hernández.
With the result, San Luis accumulates four points and is placed in 12th position while waiting for the other results.
Mazatlán accumulates a couple of units with which it remains 16th among the 18 teams in the highest category.
The local team took the lead when the Uruguayan Facundo Waller committed a foul inside the area on the Colombian Nicolás Benedetti, and Sosa converted with a powerful shot through the center of the goal defended by his compatriot Marcelo Barovero.
Shortly after, on a corner kick play, Hernandez received a cross from the left and scored with a header through the center of the goal.
THE RAYS WIN AGAIN
Uruguayan Facundo Batista scored a goal in the first half and Necaxa got its second win of the tournament by beating Ciudad Juárez 1-0.
Batista scored the only goal of the match in the 36th minute in a quick transition play that was enough for the Rayos to win.
Necaxa now has six units with which it is placed in seventh position, while the Braves conceded their first loss and remain with five points that make them slide to the eighth step.
