Mexico started its participation in the 2022 Basketball World Championship that takes place in Hungary, although it failed to overcome China and fell 77-40 in what was the start of the competition.

The Orizabean Loriette Maciel Arrieta managed to add her first minutes of activity and hopes in the following meetings to accumulate more experience.

The Mexican team began with a good pace accumulating points and successful plays, but despite the effort they made, they were unable to stop the fast Japanese who stayed up all the time.

For today, the Mexican team will face the representative of Belgium at 1:00 p.m. and will close the regular phase facing the host of Hungary on Tuesday, July 12.

The fair concentrates 12 quintets in total, in addition to those that are part of the group where Mexico is; France, Argentina, Slovenia, Egypt, Canada, Spain, Germany, the United States, Mali and three other teams from Asia also compete.

The United States is the reigning champion and will seek its fifth coronation in six editions of the contest.
