Major League Baseball rejects $440 million offer

WashingtonBaseball superstar Juan Soto has reacted slightly annoyed to media reports that he turned down a $440 million offer for 15 years.

The 23-year-old Dominican would have become the highest-paid professional in Major League Baseball history. Soto turned down the offer from his current employer, the Washington Nationals, according to a report by The Athletic.

“It feels really bad when you see something like that coming out,” he said before the Nationals match against the Atlanta Braves. The two-time All-Star player explained that he was someone who would take it easy and keep it to himself.

“I’m sure it bothers people when personal stuff like this comes out,” Washington manager Dave Martinez said. “I’m sure it bothers him a lot.” No source was named in the report.
