As much as Paul Bocuse is waiting with his best delicacies, the IDK Euskotren is not going to Lyon to taste the skills of one of the best chefs in the world. His mission is different and next October 27th he will be enclosed within the four walls of the Gymnase Mado Bonnet to undertake his debut in the Eurocup. There, the IDK wants to give themselves a basketball feast although they know that it will be complicated by the good level that their rival will have.
The draw that took place this Friday at the FIBA headquarters in Munich has placed the San Sebastian team in Group K of the Eurocup with two sure rivals and a third that will come out of a tie. Asvel Lyon from France will be the first, second classified in the French League. The other regular is Zabiny Brno from the Czech Republic, also second – like Asvel – in the League of the central European country. The third enemy of the IDK Euskotren will come out of a tie that will be settled by the French BLMA Montpellier against the Croatian ZKK Plamen Pozega. The team that loses will be left without playing in the continental competition. The first leg will be played on October 5 or 6, while the second leg will be a week later.

October 27 is a very important date in the history of the IDK Euskotren, but it will be no less so on November 2, the day on which Josean Gasca will have to wear their best clothes -despite their advanced age- to host the first game European IDK Euskotren as a local. It will be against Zabiny Brno.
The third day of the group series will be a week later and the IDK will know in mid-October if they have to go to Montpellier by coach, the distance from Donostia is 25 kilometers less than going to Barcelona, or take a flight that drive to Pozega, a town located in the interior of Croatia. On the fourth matchday, IDK will host Asvel Lyon, the fifth matchday will go to the Czech Republic and in the one that closes the group stage, they will face BLMA or Pozega.
Calibrating the potential of the rivals is complicated, but there is no doubt that the debut for the San Sebastian team is going to be tough. For example, Asvel Lyon, where Laura Quevedo has played this year, was runner-up in the League. They finished fourth in the regular competition and lost a clear 3-0 in the title final against Bourges. Alexandra Crvendakic was his best player, which has earned him to sign this year for Perfumerías Avenida.
