Marco Bayer unveiled his list for the U20 World Championship, scheduled from August 9 to 20 in Edmonton (Canada). The coach of the Suisse called 26 players. Five Romands are among them: two goalkeepers, the Lausanne Kevin Easter (Omaha Lancers, United States) and Neuchâtel Noah Patenaude (Saint John Sea Dogs, Canada); a defender, the Lausanne native Vincent Despont (teammate of Patenaude in Quebec) as well as two forwards, the Jurassien Lilian Garessus (Ajoie) and Fribourgeois Kevin Nicolet (Linköping, Sweden). Giancarlo Chanton, Solothurn defender from Servette, and Dario Sidler, Zug defender from Lausanne, are also on the call.

The Swiss delegation will fly to Canada on Monday. The final list will consist of 25 names. Therefore, one player among the 26 summoned will have to leave the group before the start of the competition.

Switzerland will begin their Worlds on August 10 against Sweden. Before this meeting, the national team will play two friendlies against Slovakia (August 5) and the United States (August 6).
