The beach tennis boom continues to add followers and is one of the main attractions of the city among beach sports. That is why between the Santafesina Tennis Federation (FST) and the Municipality of Rosario they decided to establish the first Development Center for beach tennis children on the former Rural property under the direction of player María Soledad Oneto.
The Beach Tennis department will carry out different projects and activities, among which the dictation of the first training and education course in the country stands out, to start the Beach Tennis Level 1 teacher training, which will begin in August and is intended for tennis and paddle tennis teachers and players, physical education teachers and for all those who intend to learn and teach this new sport.
The beach tennis school, called Urban Beach Tennis, It will be in charge of professionals Catalina Fontiveros and Carla Sangermano, who have extensive sports backgrounds in the practice, teaching and dissemination of this discipline and will give classes to children and adults.
The schedule of activities establishes that the classes will be given from Monday to Saturday, at the times and days to be agreed in the morning, afternoon or night, since it will have artificial light. Shifts of an hour and a half per class will be set up, which will be practice, tactics and physical training.
The objective is to develop the hotbed of sport, to have children and adolescents who can then compete in national tournaments or represent the country in international competitions and give the community the option of another sport that has many physical advantages and is very accessible economically.
The school must submit to the Santafesina Tennis Federation a monthly progress report on the development and evolution of classes and training, as well as a part of the students, with their registrations and cancellations and their evolution.
At the same time Rosario also has the largest Beach Tennis academy in the country at Balneario La Florida, where national finals were held in May, and Oneto has been carrying out the project for three years. in which classes are offered and tournaments are organized at the local level and also at the national level.
