Two interdepartmental finals, a title of “pre-regional” champion and a promotion to regional 3… The Étoile Sportive Romévienne (ESR) was officially celebrated for its true sporting and social value by the municipality. Indeed, Thierry Cambournac, mayor and his municipal council had invited the ESR and the local population to celebrate, on the square and with “great fanfare”, the performance of the basketball club. Centennial association (created in 1921), leader of the town (youth teams, etc.), the ESR was thus put forward. And how ! “Here, we do a lot, for example, for culture. The performance of the ESR, in particular, makes me say that we should do the same for sport in the broad sense in our village”, thus declared “at the tribune “the elected official paying a strong tribute to the ESR and its volunteers (leaders, practitioners, sympathizers).
Recognized for its sporting skills, the ESR then passes a higher course in the esteem of the municipal council and the inhabitants. L’Étoile is, so to speak, declared “of public utility” according to the following criteria: To be a perfect ambassador of its sport, to enhance its territory of action, to associate goodwill, to supervise youth, to train supervisors s, establish the intergenerational in its activities and, finally, participate in the media and economic vitality “of the corner”.
Glory then to the ESR, a huge thank you to the Mayor and his team, this moment of communion was magical as well as deserved.
