Kevin Durant in the sights of the Raptors?

Star player Kevin Durant caused a stir in the NBA on Thursday when he asked the Brooklyn Nets to trade him. Could the Toronto Raptors make the biggest trade in their history to get their hands on ‘KD’?

ESPN network expert Adrian Wojnarowski suggested such a scenario on Friday. According to him, the only Canadian team on the Silver circuit has all the ingredients in place to acquire the 33-year-old winger. The “Raps” hold all of their future draft picks except for a second-round selection in 2024.

The formation of the Queen City could use its veterans Pascal Siakam, Gary Trent son or even OG Anunoby as bait. General manager Bobby Webster, however, would need to pull off a feat to acquire Durant without parting with the sparkling Scottie Barnes, who was named rookie par excellence last season.

Still according to Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat are the two organizations at the top of the list of “KD”, but the Nets do not necessarily intend to respect his wishes and will accept the trade which is the most advantageous to them.

A native of Washington, Durant has previously revealed in an interview on “The Dan Patrick Show” that he grew up as a Raptors fan.
