We can start with one of the legends of the club, Bill Russell, who in his autobiography called Boston “the flea markets of racism”; we can also mention Kyrie Irving when he returned to TD Garden, comments that had been confirmed by one of Boston’s emblems, Marcus Smart; Finally, we can cite the complaint of Demarcus Cousins after a fan “insulted” him. The former pivot of the Celtics therefore wanted to testify to his experience after having spent more than 8 years in the franchise.
“There is racism everywhere. I spent eight and a half years there. And maybe, because I was part of the Celtics… I didn’t experience racism,” Perkins said.
It must be said that it would really be the height, and a shame, if Boston fans were to make discriminatory comments towards their own players. Their reputation is not too much to do, however, but we must not forget that it only takes one fool to disrupt a whole game. Even if Kendrick Perkins wanted to qualify the words of the King, concerns related to Boston fans are recurrent.

I hear so many other players say Boston is racist and stuff like that. But there is racism everywhere. On the other hand I will say: the fans are too disrespectful when it comes to opposing teams coming to Boston. »
