My parents multiplied the round trips between Koumac and Magenta, almost every weekend, to allow me to have more confrontations and to prepare myself for leaving for France. When I left, I was less helpless than if I had stayed in my little club in Koumac. I know what it’s like to train here. I try to motivate them and inspire them.

I started 2022 with a bang. I impose myself on the Grand Slam of Paris where I am at the limit of the medal. I’m twice 5th in the last two editions. In the middle of the year, with the overload of training, I experienced a lot of accumulated fatigue and poor performance. I was able to bounce back at the end by taking more of a step back, more time for myself, by managing my training a little better. It is a good year 2022 which announces the Olympiad correctly. We will go up crescendo in terms of results.

Rise crescendo to meet the requirements of the Olympic ranking set up two months ago. It takes into account the results on the international circuit between the Grand Slams, the Grand Prix, the European championships and the Worlds. To aim for Paris 2024, Alexis must chain performances. “We score points according to our ranking in competitions. We have to take as many as possible to get the best possible place. The objective for Paris 2024 is to finish in the top eight and position ourselves as favorite and not as an outsider”.

At the Magenta dojo on Wednesday evening, the Sucy Judo sportsman was watched and listened to with admiration by the licensees and the nine members of the hopeful pole. A structure led by his father, Fabrice, 7th dan and former high-level judoka.

“It shows that there is potential in the territory and that it can end up in the France team when it is well exploited.analyzes Sébastien Guagenti, technical framework of the league. It also gives a point of reference to the athletes who are in the structures, the clubs, and at the pole which allows access to the high level. It remains the model and the place to go”. A good example to follow.
