Juan Soto rejects Nationals’ 15-year, $440 million offer

The Dominican outfielder for the Washington Nationals, Juan Soto, would have rejected the largest contract in the history of the Greater for 15 years and $440 million.

This was reported by The Athletic portal, adding that the Nationals management seems willing to listen to offers for the young Quisqueyan outfielder.

This is the second offer Soto has turned down from the Nationals. Earlier this year, ESPN reported that Soto also turned down a $350 million, 13-year offer.

According to The Athletic, Nationals management no longer believes they can come to a long-term deal with Soto.

This season, Soto, 23, is batting .247 with 19 home runs and 42 RBIs in 89 games. He is in his fifth season in the Majors. In 2019 he had a sensational campaign with 34 home runs and 110 RBIs in 150 games.

The most lucrative contract in the Majors is that of outfielder Mike Trout with the Angels for $426.5 million.
