Jesús Díaz, brother of Luis: “I hope to make my own way”

One more Colombian arrives in Porto with the aim of making history. This is Jesús Díaz, brother of Luis, who was presented as a new player of team Bto which he arrived on loan with a purchase option from Barranquilla FC.

“I want to do things well, show what I have and give the best to the team,” said the 18-year-old striker, who also spoke of the references that his brother, a recent idol of that club, has given him: “He speaks to me very well, that is a very nice team, to work hard because they demand a lot and I have come to prove it. I’m going to give my best in every game, I’m just another fan”.

Porto is a good destination for Colombians, as several have made history. Falcao García, Freddy Guarín, James Rodríguez, Jackson Martínez and Luis Díaz are some of those names, although Jesús wants to leave his own mark: “They were great names in the history of FC Porto, but I hope to make my own way and write my own story in this great club”.

The youth registered 13 appearances in the first semester with the Barranquilla FC jersey between the BetPlay Tournament and the Colombia Cup, of which 7 were as a starter. The two goals he has as a professional were scored in 2021 against Real Cartagena and Tigres.

Porto B competes in the League of Honor, second division of Portuguese football that will start the first weekend of August. Sporting Covilha will be the rival of the debut in the new season.
