Jeonnam Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services (President Hong-jae Park) announced on the 21st that they had signed a mutual business agreement with Ji-in (CEO Jeong Ho-jin), an agricultural corporation, for the development of digital agriculture in Jeollanam-do.

Through this agreement, a mutual cooperation system has been established to share human and material resources for the development of digital agriculture in Jeollanam-do, promote artificial intelligence joint research projects, and improve the income of smart farming households.

Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services and Jiin Co., Ltd. secured 250 million won in government funds last year and are jointly promoting the construction and operation support project of an open-field environmental data collection system for agricultural big data collection and data infrastructure construction from this year.

Accordingly, Jiin Co., Ltd. installed advanced sensor equipment that collects various data such as precipitation, temperature, soil moisture tension, and electrical conductivity (EC) in 50 farmhouses in Jeollanam-do to determine the correlation between farmhouse weather information and agricultural yields. carry out research

In particular, the artificial intelligence technology owned by acquaintances and the sharing of big data collected and analyzed by the Agricultural Research and Extension Services is expected to create a cutting-edge agricultural ecosystem, which is expected to significantly improve the competitiveness of digital agriculture in Jeollanam-do.

Cho Kyung-cheol, a researcher at the Agricultural Information Team at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Development Institute, said, “With the transition from analog agriculture to digital agriculture, the percentage of AI participation in agricultural decision-making has increased, thereby reducing the labor shortage in rural areas and helping to improve productivity, thereby improving the income of farmers.
