Is NBA 2K23 cross-platform?

News from EA is an encouraging development and last year Blizzard had ‘Overwatch’ players go crazy when he said crossplay was coming. However, it must be recognized that crossplay is a relatively new idea and developers are still figuring out how to implement it. Crossplay on “FIFA” is still only in the phase de test and limited to the current generation of consoles with no word on if or when it will be expanded. Given the current circumstances, it’s safe to assume that 2K’s silence on crossplay is a decent sign that it won’t be coming to the next “NBA 2K” title.

This seems to be the common opinion on Twitter, Redditand at points of sale such as The loading. The general consensus is that 2K won’t be bringing crossplay to its games anytime soon and it should focus on other ways to improve gameplay for now. Among the issues fans seem to be prioritizing over cross-play are better server performance and PC port improvements for 2K games.

It’s unfortunate for 2K that they can’t make a big announcement like this at this time. Some exciting news could distract from the recent bad press surrounding a class action 2K is dealing with the use of loot boxes in its games. With controversy swirling, the company could definitely use a win. Still, fans hoping for crossplay probably shouldn’t start holding their breath just yet.
