“I want this to be my only home”

To say that Stephen Curry is happy on the Warriors is a truism. He has been in the organization for 13 years, has won four rings, has been MVP of the season twice and one of the NBA Finals. He has it all. He is considered one of the best players in basketball history and has the best contract; one that does not expire until the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. There are four years ahead to continue enjoying the basket, but… and then? The star of the Californians is not only clear that he wants to spend his entire career in ‘his team’, but that beyond it he would continue working and living in the Bay.

I know this. I just finished my 13th year here. To be able to say that I have played for a team my entire career… With the 10 years that I have spent in Oakland and these last three in San Francisco, I can say how special this place is. Also, here you can cover the need to tackle some challenges and do it in a meaningful way. Honestly, I never want to leave. I want this to be my only home, even thinking about what will happen once basketball is over », he comments in an interview during his presence at a baseball game.

That Curry speaks so fondly of his time with the Warriors is hardly surprising. As we have mentioned, he has everything he needs (and more) to fulfill his sporting dreams. If you add the location to that… then there is little left to say. At this point the only question is what he will do beyond 2026. By then he will be 38 years old and we do not know if he will want to continue playing or not. But we shouldn’t worry about it. Our only mission is to enjoy his basketball.
