“I have good feedback from the Atlanta Hawks, it’s encouraging”

“I was praised for my basketball IQ”

Personally, I draw positive and constructive conclusions from this experience. It’s always a cool experience, where I learned a lot even if it only lasted ten days. I started the first two games on the bench, then coach Nick Van Exel started me in the third game, which was our first victory. It means that the staff saw what I could bring as the competition progressed. It’s a very positive sign, that’s for sure.

I found myself playing in the same role I had at Gonzaga in my third year, playing full-back and winger. My role was to facilitate collective movements without the ball and put myself at the service of the team in almost all areas of the game, in points when I had open shots, in rebounds and by showing the way in defense. We had point guards who were very scoring-oriented, so I had to contribute in my own way.

My most complete game was the fourth, against the San Antonio Spurs, in the victory where I scored 7 points at 3/6 on shots, along with 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. I felt very good during this match, and I was able to impact the game on both sides of the floor.

“Received by one of the best point guards in history”

I spoke a lot during the Summer League with coach Nick Van Exel, who also spoke about me and congratulated my versatility and my basketball IQ in a press conference, it’s nice to hear even if I’m not someone who loves compliments in public (laughs). We also spoke a lot with Landry Fields, the sporting director of the Hawks, and several other staff members, who gave me good feedback and very constructive and positive remarks. It’s very encouraging for the future, and now I have to wait for opinions and feedback from the Hawks, but also from other franchises, on what they thought of me during this Summer League. The situation should be unblocked before the end of July.
