Hatred is peaking! Hungarian hooligans rudely insulted Slovakia. And in the guest sector, again the only fan

That match is especially vividly remembered by Slavisty fans. Almost exactly a year ago, they lost 0:2 in the rematch of the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League on the hot ground of Ferencváros Budapest, and after only a one-goal win from Eden, they definitively lost their hope of participating in the most famous club competition.

The Slovak champion fared much better in Wednesday’s preliminary round. The sold-out stadium was waiting for the goal until the 70th minute, and to the joy of the overwhelming majority, the home team Zachariassen took care of it. However, the enthusiasm of the hot-blooded home fans was soon put to the test.

11 minutes later, the Hungarian giant was roasted by the Georgian fullback in the service of Belas Kashia, and when Armenian midfielder Barseghyan turned the balance of power for the Slovakian team with a great shot five minutes later, the home team was completely in the mood. Ferencváros has not recovered from the shock and will try to close the one-goal lead in Bratislava next week on Wednesday.

The mock duel was under the watchful eye of the police following past experiences, so the domestic toughest core, apart from a few verbal insults, only left with an inscription in English “Stolen land. Stolen symbols. No history. J*bat Slovakia”.

The heated match was made even more special by the moment from the very beginning of the match, when the only fan of Slovan Bratislava, Dano Antošík, “crowded” in the visitors’ sector. It was a reminder of the event that took place at the stadium in Budapest in 1992, when Antošík was the only one who came to support the Slovak team after a series of violence during matches between the two teams.

Unlike the thirty-year-old story, this time he was joined after a few minutes by several dozen of his compatriots, who could rejoice in the final surprising victory.

By the way, the clash at that time in the 1st round of the PMEZ (predecessor of the Champions League) went better for Slovan, who won the first match at home with a high score of 4:1, then kept a goalless draw in Budapest. Will history repeat itself this year?

In case of promotion to the 3rd preliminary round of the Champions League, Slovan will challenge the better of the pair Karabach Agdam–FC Zurich.
