Ten days after starting to prepare for the 2022/23 season, Real Unión traveled to Bordeaux yesterday to play their first friendly match of the summer against Girondins. On the lawn of the Matmut Atlantique, the Irundarras found a more rounded adversary that took nine minutes to unbalance the electronics.

The 1-0 came from a penalty, after Hong Kong’s Chan was knocked down, and immediately afterwards it was 2-0 after an error in Jaso’s ball exit. The friendly was conditioned before the end of the first part by the expulsion of Núñez.

Beyond the inconsequential result, the clash served to see the new reinforcements in action, among them the Venezuelan Jon Aramburu, and to witness the great goal from a direct free kick with which Alain Oyarzun from Irun closed the gap on the scoreboard.
