Esports competition platform PlayVS offers free Nintendo copies Splaton 3 and discounts for 2K’ games NBA 2K23 high school esports teams. Although the two are completely different genres of video games, Splaton 3 et NBA 2K23 are set to launch on September 9.

This isn’t PlayVS’ first partnership with a video game company. In fact, last year PlayVS teamed up with Nintendo to bring both Splaton 2 et Smash Ultime to high schools as college esports. In addition to donating 3,000 copies of either game to select schools across the United States, the partnership also offered a 12-month individual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online. The partnership between PlayVS and Nintendo ushered in the fall 2021 season of high school esports across America.

Nintendo partners with PlayVS to offer Splaton 3 is significant, especially considering that the video game giant has already issued a Cease and Desist to organizers for an online Super Smash Bros. tournament. Although Nintendo has partnered with PlayVS to offer Splaton 2 et Super Smash Bros Ultimate to high school esports last year, this year’s offering of Splaton 3 is slightly different. As Splaton 3 will be available to teams on launch day, students will be able to participate in the game’s first-ever competitive circuits. When Nintendo offered Splaton 2 last year, the game had already been released for several years. Splaton 3however, will be immediately made available to the esports field.

As the future of esports is changing, PlayVS’ renewed partnership with Nintendo suggests that the Japanese company might want to invest in this part of the industry. Perhaps the growing public interest in the esports scene, especially with popular tournament games like Super Smash Bros Ultimateis what will encourage companies like Nintendo and 2K Games to embrace the change.
