Football: team B has validated the climb

Pougues les Eaux. Team B has validated the climb. The general meeting of the football club was held recently in the presence of Jean-Michel Dupont, assistant to the associations and Elide Sanchez, president of the omnisports. The moral report of the co-presidents, Bernard Seignet and Julien Piboin, pointed to two difficult years (following the Covid) which saw the end of two championships.

However, the objectives of the past year have been met: the maintenance of team A (it will evolve in D1 in 2022-20223) and the rise of team B which will play in D2.

A small regret for the first team, which had made a very good start to the season but which then had to deal with numerous injuries and which, seeing the rise escape them, no longer felt concerned. The president underlined the youth of this team, made up of 80% young people from the AFGP. The veterans, themselves, encountered staffing problems, but were semi-finalists of the Nièvre Cup.

However, the club is delighted with the very good attendance at training and the club’s workforce, which remains stable.

The events (rifles, flea market) worked very well, as demonstrated by Jean-Claude Paillé’s financial report. The balance sheet shows a positive balance. The finances make it possible to calmly consider the 2022-2023 season and the license has remained at 60 €.

Lionel Eray, for the AFGP which will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Pentecost 2023, said how complicated the year had been with three teams in the league and 200 young people to train. The trips were difficult with parents who were not very involved. He announced that after the works related to the construction of the swimming pool, the young people would return to train in Pougues, next season. He wanted a consultation with the town hall for the programming of the maintenance of the installations.

A new board of directors

The co-presidents recalled that the AFGP was the breeding ground for the three local clubs, hence the need to train young people well. Note that the U17s finished first in their group in the region and will play in the District in 2023.

During its general meeting, the ASCP foot formed a new board of directors composed of: Bernard and Annie Seignet, Julien Piboin, Bernadette Thomas, Yoan Ferrandon, Jean-Claude Paillé, Dominique Corbin, Jean-Paul Parmentier, Stéphane Charbonnot, Brice and Chantal Marien, Romain Cheuton, Pierre Martin, Eddy Cousin, Céline and Hervé Commeau, David Laurent, Jean-Jacques Goury, Marc Seguin, Vincent Delavaquerie, Gérard Moraes, Jean-Paul Blanchet and Hugo Prieur.
