In a game valid for the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship, this Sunday (24/07), at Raulino de Oliveira, Fluminense ended the campaign in the first round with a victory. With the 2-1 triumph over Red Bull Bragantino, Tricolor reached 34 points and can finish the round in second place.

In a busy game, the team took the initiative, had the best opportunities, and managed to turn superiority into victory. With the result, the Team of Warriors remains strong in the fight for the title.

The team led by coach Fernando Diniz returns to the field on Thursday (28/07), when they face Fortaleza, at 20:30, away from home, for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil.

FIRST TIME

After 3 minutes, Nonato took a risk from afar and sent it over the goal. In the 9th minute, after the ball hit, Germán Cano tried to finish, but the kick came out weak. At 10, Nonato found a beautiful pass for Caio Paulista, who in the dispute with the goalkeeper sent the ball on the post. At 13, Nonato crossed from the left and Manoel slipped without danger to the goalkeeper. In the same minute, Nonato found another cross, but Samuel Xavier got the ball wrong.

At 17 minutes, Caio Paulista tried the kick, the ball deflected and was calm for the goalkeeper. At 21, Cano scored for Tricolor, but he was in an irregular position, so the goal was disallowed. At 23, André hit hard for the goalkeeper’s good defense.

SECOND TIME

In the first minute of the second stage, Matheus Martins made a beautiful move and found Caio Paulista, who, inside the area, hit the post.
