Five-team All-Star John Wall signs with Clippers

LAS VEGAS — Five-team all-star John Wall agreed to a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

“John is one of the best at carrying the ball and creating quality shots,” said Lawrence Frank, president of basketball operations for the Clippers.

“He adds depth with his basketball spirit, his passing and his touch to counter attacks at the key moment they unfold.”

The 31-year-old averaged 20.6 points and 6.9 assists in 40 appearances with Houston in 2020-21.

He didn’t play last season as the Rockets considered a long-term plan for him.

Wall underwent surgery on his left heel which caused him to miss most of the 2018-19 season.

He missed the entire following season, in recovery.

Wall played just 41 games in 2017-18, having been limited by a left knee injury.

Drafted first in 2010 (Kentucky), Wall played for Washington from 2010-2020, being an NBA All-Star from 2014-2018.
