The professional relationship between former World No.1 Naomi Osaka and Wim Fisette has come to an end.

One of the most successful coaches on the WTA circuit who has been able to participate in the careers of very high-level players such as Johanna Konta, Sabine Lisicki, Victoria Azarenka, Kim Clijsters, Simona Halep and Angelique Kerber. He took the baton from a Sacha Bajin who did not end well with the Japanese. Fisette caught Naomi Osaka in 2019 with the Japanese being already a very media player speaking that she could mark an era since the game and the dominance that she offered, especially on hard courts, was striking.

The journey between Osaka and Fisette

That US Open title in 2018 changed the Japanese player’s sports career. She had a follow-up with the championship obtained in 2019 at the Australian Open proving untreatable. With that change of work team where Fisette entered, they continued working for two more Grand Slam titles to arrive. She went to the US Open in the 2020 season and in 2021 she won again at the Australian Open.

The psychological capacity to be able to face all the moments has been covered by all the media in the world. Osaka has had many very bad moments on a mental level and that has been reflected in her results. From that title in Melbourne in the 2021 season, Naomi’s performance dropped a lot. She was pronounced in the ranking when she left the Top 100. In this 2022 she returned to recover sensations after a long time in Miami where she reached the final being stopped by Iga Swiatek. That brought her back to the Top 50 but she has not been able to play much more losing in the second round in Madrid and in the first at Roland Garros.
