Feyenoord captures youth international Marley Cruz

Sixteen-year-old youth international Marley Cruz signed a contract with Feyenoord at Varkenoord on Tuesday afternoon, which will bind him to the club until mid-2025. The attacker comes over from ADO Den Haag and will join Feyenoord Under 17 this season.

”Marley can best be described as a technically very gifted winger with a good individual action who also has a lot of speed”, sums up Rini Coolen, Head of Academy at Feyenoord. “Besides these qualities, he is very task conscious and a real winner. As a club, we are very happy that Marley can be admired at Varkenoord from this season.”

“As a born and raised Rotterdammer, I have always had a good feeling at Feyenoord,” Cruz says on the club website of the Rotterdammers. “I am very proud to have signed a three-year contract here in front of my family and friends. I look forward to showing my qualities to everyone in the Feyenoord shirt.”

Cruz started his football career in the youth of RVV AGE and MSV De Involved Spartaan and later was active for one season with VV Zwaluwen from Vlaardingen. In the summer of 2019, the born Rotterdammer made the switch to the youth academy of ADO Den Haag, where he would play for three seasons. In addition, the right leg made his debut last season as a youth international of the Netherlands for the Futureteam for players under 16 years of age.
