Gijon, 28 Jul. Feliciano López and Pablo Carreño complete the list of semifinalists of the Luanco Beach Tennis tournament after beating Pavel Petrov and Gerard Planelles, respectively, last night on the La Ribera beach court, which again registered an attendance of more than 2,000 people.
The Luanco Beach Tennis tournament is the only one in the world that is held on the sand of a beach, in this case taking advantage of the second low tide of the day, so the days begin around 10:00 p.m.
In the first semifinal Feliciano López clearly beat Pavel Petrov by a double 6-1, since he adapted much better than his rival to the characteristics of the Luanquina court, taking advantage of his greater knowledge of it by having participated more times in the tournament.
Next, Pablo Carreño found much more resistance in Gerard Planelles, whom he finally beat 6-4, 6-4 after an hour and a half of play.
Tonight, Tommy Robredo, who beat Miguel Avendaño in the quarterfinals, will face Feliciano López in the first of the semifinals, followed by Pablo Carreño and the young Lithuanian Edas Butvilas, who eliminated Marc López. EFE
