Exasperated Billy Horschel attacks LIV Invitational Series players

Billy Horschel has come to the defense of the historic circuits and condemned the diva behavior of the players who left for the dissident league LIV whom he urges to leave for good.

At this week’s Genesis Scottish Open press conference at The Renaissance, the Floridian insisted that he didn’t want to talk any more and that he was going to let his heart speak when asked what he thought of the players who jumped ship for the dissident circuit’s millions of dollars funded by Saudi Arabia’s Sovereign Fund.

They made a choice, they assume it and they leave us alone. Sincerely !

His comments come a few days after three players – Ian Poulter, Adrian Otaegui and Justin Harding – were granted a postponement of the penalties imposed on them by the DP World Tour in order to play in the Scottish Open from Thursday.

“They decided to go play on this round and they should go. They shouldn’t be here on the DP World Tour or the PGA Tour. to say that they also wanted to support the historic tours, be it the DP World Tour or the PGA Tour in the future while playing the LIV Tour, is completely silly.”

very reassembled the winner of the Memorial Tournament in early June demonstrated the inconsistency of their reasoning.

«To play the PGA Tour, you need to play 15 events. They are on a circuit that will require them to play 14 events. So they’re going to play 29 tournaments a year just to keep their PGA Tour membership? It’s ridiculous.”

Hypocrisy and lies

The defending BMW PGA champion added that he has no animosity toward anyone who decides to join LIV will toward anyone who decides to play with LIV Golf.

“They made a choice, they assume it and they leave us alone. Sincerely ! They keep saying the PGA Tour isn’t listening. I was really pissed off to hear that because there are a lot of guys out there who are hypocrites, who don’t tell the truth and who lie about certain things. I can’t stand to sit here and be diplomatic about it any longer.”

Horschel then mocked one of the main reasons given by LIV players who repeat over and over that they want to spend more time with their families.

“I’m not going to see my family for five weeks, but that’s what my wife and I have decided” , he explained.

“Are you going to hear me complain about it?” No. It is a dream to try to play golf professionally and support my family financially.”
